I visited this Shoppers Drug Mart on November 16, 2025 at around 11:45 PM after coming directly from the hospital due to severe ear pain. The store was closing at 12:00 AM. Unfortunately, the pharmacist refused to process my prescription, stating that she was closing soon. She mentioned she could take my prescription but would only dispense the medication the next day. What was most disappointing is that she did not even review or look at my prescription or hospital documents before refusing. I explained that I was in pain and needed the medication urgently, but no exception was made. I understand closing procedures; however, in a healthcare-related role, patient care, empathy, and at least reviewing medical documents are very important especially for someone coming straight from the hospital late at night.
Great location. Good size footprint with a nice balance of groceries, Beauty products, hygiene etc. Their Pharmacy team are exceptional especially the Pharmacy assistants Meagan and Cory, who are very courteous, patient, knowledgeable and make the difference.
The most horrible shoppers drug mart. My husband and I went into this shoppers to talk to a pharmacist about anything she can recommend since we caught a cold. We waited for 5 mins and the pharmacist says “I’ll be right there”. Now it’s been 15 minutes and we’re still waiting. Then she proceeds to look directly at me and make a phone call. Amazing, don’t help the people that are right in front of you but please make the phone call. Take in, it was at 11:30pm and not one other person was waiting, just us. Disappointed in their customer service.
Today I brought maybelline New York bubble mascara from the store and that was defective piece when I checked in my home .I feel very sad when I check this product and this is not fair service .
This is the ABSOLUTE WORST Shoppers in Canada. They literally stole $425 from me. I purchased $425 in gift cards ($300 Keg, $100 Golf Town, $25 Tim Hortons) for a colleague's retirement gift on September 19, 2025 at 3:18pm. I went back to the store after my colleague embarrassingly informed me that none of the gift cards were activated. Yet $425 was 100% posted (and remains posted) to my bank card. The store tells me to pound salt and call corporate because they can't refund gift cards. Really? You can take $425 in seconds, give me no product or service, as agreed upon (aka: a FRAUDULENT SCAM!!!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!), and then, insult to injury, no refund. I then phoned corporate, had to file 3 separate email claims for the 3 different gift card companies (even though Shoppers only uses 1 gift card "middle company" to process all gift cards... layers of scam baked in). They promised a resolution within 10 business days. Now, after 30 business days, Shoppers gets the worst review I have ever left a company. Awful customer service, email communication and responses once a week, if that, poorly written, offering me points and not a refund. I demanded a refund, they promised a cheque within 8-10 weeks (4 months after my colleague retired). I say this is unacceptable, then finally a manager steps in and promises to courtier a cheque within 5 days. 10 days later = still nothing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOPPERS AT ALL COSTS AND NEVER BUY A GIFT CARD AT THIS LOCATION (OR ANYTHING) BECAUSE THEY ARE RUNNING A SCAM AND WILL NEVER SEND YOU MONEY. My only hope now is a credit card charge back and going to the media. Mr Weston should be ashamed of such an awful company, awful location, terrible staff. WORST experience at any store or business ever. Disgusting! DO NOT SHOP HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED
Dear [Store Manager / Customer Service Team], I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding a distressing experience I had during a recent visit to your store, specifically involving a staff member named Asher Marcus. I approached Mr. Marcus for assistance with picking up my prescription medication. Unfortunately, instead of providing help, he responded in a rude and dismissive manner. He repeatedly insisted that my insurance information was not working, without making any effort to investigate or assist further. His lack of empathy and professionalism was evident, and the situation escalated when he began raising his voice and ultimately refused to provide service, walking away abruptly. This behavior is unacceptable and not reflective of the standards I expect from a customer-facing representative. What was even more troubling were the inappropriate and racially insensitive remarks made by Mr. Marcus during our interaction. Such comments are deeply offensive and have no place in any professional environment. I am genuinely concerned that someone displaying such behavior holds a managerial position within your organization. Thankfully, another staff member stepped in and handled the situation with professionalism and care. She promptly checked my insurance information, completed the prescription pickup efficiently, and even apologized for the unpleasant experience. Regrettably, I was unable to get her name due to the stress of the situation, but I sincerely appreciate her assistance and hope her efforts are recognized. Despite her intervention, Mr. Marcus remained uncooperative and refused to provide his last name when I informed him of my intention to file a formal complaint. His continued unprofessional and discriminatory behavior was extremely upsetting. I urge you to thoroughly investigate this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not re-occur. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and I trust that your organization shares this value. Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns. I look forward to your response. I've been coming to this location for a while now and I couldn't be more pleased. Customer service is great! Kiran always takes care of me and makes sure I get what I need and all my questions answered! Hands down the best Shoppers around.
