In November 2017, renovations in a unit several floors above led to a heat pump bursting and caused water damage to my floors. It took many months before the water damaged floor was removed. There was a small amount of mold spreading from the kitchen so I had pressured them to hurry up. Then I lived with concrete floors and no doors up until around the 6 month mark. I am now at the 8th month period waiting for the sliding bedroom doors and closet doors to be installed. I keep getting the run around from everyone. I kept getting assured vendor management is on it and that First General (the contractors) is in the middle of scheduling. Neither the insurance investigator nor the scheduling department responds anymore. Please, consider what insurance is supposed to be. You are buying peace of mind. I wasnt responsible for whatever caused the water leak and yet I am still dealing with the renovations 8 months after it happened. My time is worth more than the trouble I have had to go through just to get to this point. I have no doubt this will continue to drag out further. Do yourselves a favour and look elsewhere for insurance.
I'd give this zero stars if I could. Horrible claim service! "Excellent customer service? Great customer focus"?? NOT!! Terrible claims service. Worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. Actually worst company of any kind. Getting jerked around big time. go somewhere else. Had claim in for a month now, after many calls to them, no action. Call for a quote they're all over you, claim forget it
Worst insurance company operating in Toronto today. Pathetic support, horrible customer service. If youre adviser is Gale Fitzgerald then youre better off finding a different provider cos shes not going to do anything
JUST SAVE YOURSELF AND GET INSURED SOMEWHERE ELSE. This company is a huge scam. Got into a minor car accident back in July, after speaking to 3 different claim advisors, repeating the same information over and over again and dealing with claim advisors that have hung up on me twice in the middle of phonecalls, i still have yet to get my car fixed (ITS ALMOST OCTOBER). My original claim advisor has gone MIA, her cell phone goes directly to this number has not been assigned and I have had no answers to anything. Ive called,emailed and texted every day for the past 3 weeks. I am beyond fed up.
I love this insurance company so much. I wish i could have given a negative rating. They have an amazing customer retention policy. Close to the renewal date, these scammers not only raised my home & auto premium by over "22%". I know insurance premium will go up in 2018 by max of 5%, but 22%+. Ridiculous !! Beauty is, they come up with phenomenal stories why my insurance premium is going up. I'll be better off with TD/Mass/RBC.
