Since I had went to the Midland and Finch branch, I came to this place with my GF again during a visit in the area. This restaurant is definitely has a bigger dinning area and the fridges are well placed so that you don't accidentally bump into others. While the food served quickly, there was no flavor in it. Ordered the Tom Yum soup and it was so plain like it was coming out from a instant noodle sauce pack. The food that we chose tasted like they just boiled it and put in the soup. It tasted different from what I had at the Midland branch. Not to mention that staffs were chatting loudly at the cashier while the customers were whispering among themselves. Kinda disappointed at this location.
Very good restaurant to enjoy "麻辣烫”. Choose meat and vegetable you like, and select the soup and then they will boil them together. The price Will be calculated by the weight. Don't miss this restaurant if you like to try spicy
A Flavorful & Fun Hot Pot Experience! 3rd Mom Spicy Hot Pot offers a solid and delicious meal, especially if you enjoy customizing your own bowl! The process is simple: you pick your ingredients, they’re priced by weight, and then you choose your soup base. We went with the peanut butter dry mix base, and it was a total winner! The sauce was rich and nutty, with a gentle kick of spice that blended beautifully. It coated every ingredient perfectly, making each bite super flavorful and satisfying. Whether you load up on veggies, noodles, or proteins, everything comes out well-coated and tasty. It’s a casual, no-fuss spot that hits the spot when you're craving something hearty and full of flavor. We’ll definitely be back to try more bases—and to have that peanut butter mix again!
You can pick the ingredients and soup as you like. Food is ok. Soup seems to be quite condensed and salty. Ingredients are just ok. The restaurant is quite big, bright and organized.
I had the spicy hot pot for lunch here, and the meat was not fresh at all. I got really sick after eating it and had bad diarrhea when I got home. Super disappointed with this place.
This is like a hidden treasure. Since I like to eat mostly veggie food I found some of the items were missing like Tofu and when I asked that the container was empty assuming she will refill she said it’s done. Honestly was not expecting much but I was surprised how good it tasted with the various soup bases offered . So basically you take a serving container with raw items (self serve ) and everything is calculated by weight and minimum weight is 300 grams . I am a small eater so found this to be a very big quantity for me! Some of the containers contents did not look fresh and the lady coming to clean up disappointed me by putting stuff back in the containers which had fallen out. The sit down place is vibrant and well lit and the servers are pick in getting your order to your table and you can opt for a bowl of rice for only a buck! The table also has glasses and lemon water. They also should not be using cleaning material when people are dining as that is not acceptable to people who are allergic to the smell of these cleaning chemicals (floor and tables). Lot of parking and seems child friendly too
We were so excited to try 3rd Mom Spicy Hot Pot since the area has a limited number of hotpot restaurants. The staff were friendly and patient. Even though there was a language barrier, they put an effort into explaining the flavours of their soup bases. The atmosphere was bright and airy. They had two different pricing: regular and premium. Walking in, you grab a tray with two separate bowls to separate the premium from the regular when they weigh them. The regular options consisted of vegetables and non-meat options. These were charged under $2.99 per 100 grams. As for the premium options, these included the meat and seafood, and were charged under $3.99 per 100 grams. We chose their spicy hot pot soup and the spicy peanut butter with soup. The peanut butter one is a must. The nuttiness added a layer of creaminess to the soup. Both were definitely spicy but we really enjoyed the spiciness in Chinese cuisines. If you’re not familiar with how spicy their hotpots are, I suggest to ask the staff for a different soup base. I noticed the staff didn’t ask whether we wanted our soups to be mild or medium. I’m guessing this is because of the language barrier but we would’ve preferred the spiciest level if we were asked. We also had the option for unlimited rice and ice jelly for an extra cost to which you can help yourself to at the corner of the restaurant. However, there was no station to make or prepare your dipping sauces unlike the hotpot restaurants we’ve been to in Markham which was a let-down. Overall, a decent spot in the city but we still prefer the Markham ones.
