As a business person, I hate leaving another business a bad review but I could not help myself with this experience I had yesterday. This business, due to the unethical and shady practices of manager (possibly the owner; pictured in one of the photos here for their business page, standing between two cars and wearing a blue jacket). I brought my vehicle in for breaks that had worn out. Without telling discussing cost, even approx cost, he took the vehicle and put it on the lift. Once it was on the lift he began to explain to me that I needed not only the front but also the rear breaks and rotors changed. I asked how much it would cost and after about 10 minutes he told me it was going to be a little over $1720. I told him that the price was expensive and he proceeded to ask me how much I think I should pay him. I told him no more then a $1000, even though I thought that was still too high; I just wanted the job done so I can be on my way and not price shop other mechanics. He said my price was too low and offered to drop it $200. I told him no and asked him to take the vehicle off of the lift so he agreed. Thinking I was bluffing as we walked to the car, he offered to drop it to $1350, an additional $150. The answer was still no - because the smell of his shady business practices were already evident, I did not want to do business with him. Today I found a local mechanic who told me my rear breaks and rotors did not have any need to be changed, saying that they appeared to be in really great condition. I paid him $673 for parts and labor and drove off a happy man. The owner of manager of Speedy Auto was deceitful and unethical. Not only price gouging but also lying about his professional opinion for a service. He needs to be fired or have this business license immediately suspended. This auto service shop is a prime example of why so many customers still remain suspicion of this industry.
Extremely disappointed in the service. I would get a second opinion if they tell you repairs are needed. My heat didn’t work after getting an oil change, I went back and they said I needed $700 worth of repairs. I took it to another mechanic that said there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car.
Just recently had my SUV repaired as it wouldn’t start. Left it in the parking lot for them for Monday. I got a call Monday morning and explained what was going on. They said they were so busy and do there best to have it looked at. They called in the afternoon to say the battery needed replacing and explained everything even the extra labor cost due to the battery. They had it ready by the end of the day. The staff was all very friendly and professional, they are honest mechanics. We are very always very happy with the service. Thank you !!!
Oh absolutely you earned the 5stars. The service was fast, timely and the guy in the front desk was respectful and he answered all my questions and concerns with patience :)
I trust these guys. *Update* My trust is broken since Joe left and management changed last year. These folks had me convinced I had a head gasket issue when they couldn't find a coolant leak and they figured the amount of exhaust was indicative of said problem. I took it to another shop, they found a small leak in one of the hoses, and the problem is gone. I won't be going back for any sort of troubleshooting in the future. Basic service only.
