Absolutely furious with my experience at Uncle Tetsu’s Japanese Cheesecake today. I bought these tarts and they actually put them in a thin paper bag. Who on earth packages soft, creamy tarts in a paper bag?! By the time I got home, everything was collapsed, leaking, and completely ruined. Totally uneatable. This is beyond disappointing — it’s unprofessional, careless, and shows zero respect for customers or their own products. To anyone thinking about buying from here: BE CAREFUL. Check how they package your food, because you might end up paying for something you can’t even eat. I will not be coming back.
I visited here yesterday.!! Staff were friendly, and i was really looking forward to eat cheesecake. But.. here cheesecake not for me. Taste not badly but I don’t want to buy for almost $15. And cheese cake didn’t have much cheese taste, and the cake texture more like sponge cake So i gave star for taste, ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (1 to 5) And for service, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (1 to 5) Thanks!
Uncle Tetsu was my first place to go for Japanese cheese cake back when they opened in Toronto at Dundas and Bay. And it's STILL my go to place. And if ur not into cheese cake, the 6 pack of tarts are nice too.
Omg uncle tetsu’s cheesecake and original cheese tart is super delicious. I drove from cambridge to missisauga just to have their cheesecake twice in 2 weeks lol. Very much authentic.
Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake in Square One is always my go-to spot for cheesecake! Such a great addition to the Food District — their cheesecakes are always fresh, soft, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I was hoping to try the chocolate cheesecake this time, but learned it’s only available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Ended up getting my usual classic cheesecake and it never disappoints. Also got a cheese tart as a complimentary treat — such a nice surprise! Thanks, guys! I’ll definitely be back to try the chocolate cheesecake soon.
First time here today after seeing an old Facebook post back years ago, and I would say it's up there with the hype. It was very smooth, fluffy (very cloud like, between cotton candy to cake texture), consistency with the cheesecake taste we all know without being too sweet, compared to NY style where it is very dense and decadent, with a graham-cracker crust on the more sweeter end. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, but rather fits a certain mood. Service was also really good too. Far from my place, but would come definitely back for the matcha and chocolate.
The location is in a convenient spot by the food court entrance. My first experience visiting here was soured, as I ordered a chocolate cheesecake on a Thursday and got a regular one instead. Update: Uncle tetsu's customer service, namely Nicole, made efforts to make it right. I appreciate their swift attention, and response to the matter. It's reflected in the rating.
