I visited Monderine Bake Shop at Ridgeway Plaza today hoping to enjoy a Sunday cheat meal, as the place looks quite sophisticated from the outside. The café itself has a nice ambiance and was almost empty when I arrived (only 1–2 tables occupied). Since it was cold, I decided to order takeout. What I ordered: Croissant Breakfast Sandwich (with halal breakfast chicken, arugula, eggs, and tomatoes) Chocolate Chunk Pancakes Latte The wait time was about 10–15 minutes, which is reasonable. Packaging & Service Issues: Unfortunately, the experience went downhill when the food arrived. There was no proper takeout packaging—both food items were placed in a cake/pastry box, which felt very odd for a breakfast order. The cream meant for the pancakes was put in a coffee cup, which was inconvenient and messy. The latte was served in a cup whose lid wouldn’t close properly. When I pointed it out, I was told they only have those cups and that the lids don’t work well with coffee. That’s not acceptable when customers are paying $6–7 for a coffee. On top of that, the coffee tasted very weak—mostly milk with little coffee flavor. Food Quality: Pancakes: The pancakes themselves were just okay—nothing special and definitely not as moist as what you’d get at places like Sunset Grill. The cream provided tasted off, almost spoiled, with a smell similar to ghee, which completely ruined the pancakes. At $18, I expected much better. Croissant Sandwich: Also just average. The chicken strips (similar to bacon) were very hard, and overall there was no memorable flavor—certainly not worth $15. Overall Impression: They seem to have a wide variety of bakery items like croissants and pastries, which might be good, but when it comes to breakfast items and coffee, the experience was average to below average. What Needs Improvement: Proper to-go packaging Freshness of cream and other perishable items Better coffee quality and usable cups/lids

Every time I visit Mississauga this bake shop is a must stop. They have the best Pistachio Crossaint. There Karak is exceptional. No one makes it like they do. I also tried the Belgian hot chocolate and on my request they made it with dark chocolate which was fantastic.

My friend wanted to try this place out. We came for brunch and there was no wait time. The place was clean, spacious, and had lots of seating. We ordered the breakfast sandwiches, the almond croissant, and some chai beverages. The food and drinks were top notch!! The croissants were flaky and soft on the inside. It is a gourmet cafe that you can order to-go as well. I am definitely coming back here to try other croissants.

My favourite croissants are almond croissants and this place gets it right! Love the cluster of almonds on top snd how buttery and flaky it is. Would definitely try other things as well!

Absolutely love Monderie Bakery! Their hot cocoa is rich, creamy, and perfect for chilly days — truly comfort in a cup. And the golden twists are just heavenly — buttery, flaky, and perfectly sweet! A cozy little spot with great treats and friendly vibes. Highly recommend stopping by! ☕

The food and atmosphere was great! The breakfast sandwich was delicious and they have the yummiest chocolate croissants! It’s self service so with a party of 12 we did have some hiccups of not receiving everything we had ordered but it was ironed out.

A great cafe, an oasis in the chaos of the Ridgeway plaza. I came on a Sunday morning to get some work done. Got great service and filling yummy food. Highly recommend. Great for meeting up, business or casual, always great treats to eat in or take away. Special shout-out to the lady who runs the enterprise. Great hospitality.
