Last September we came to June Lawrence last minute when the acro class that we registered near our house suddenly cancelled on us due to low enrolment when the session was about to start, left us scrambling looking for an alternative option. It has been an amazing experience being at June Lawrence and we’re so glad we found this studio. The teachers are not only professional, dedicated but very supportive. It’s a very friendly and inclusive place for children. You can tell that it’s an extremely well run business. I really felt that the experience at June Lawrence has helped my daughter grow her confidence and become more well rounded a person. We couldn’t have been more impressed.
I deleted my previous review because I felt it was a bit too blunt and might have come across as harsh. But I still have a review to leave and I hope it is taken with reflection. Again, I have no reviews about the school itself because I don’t directly participate. However, I attend the year end program because I have a child who dances in one of their programs (I will explain as I failed to do last time, our family is a blended one, which I will not go into detail about, however, because of the nature of our family, my name will not be represented as the parent of the child). My review is about the year end program. While it is very entertaining. I will reiterate that it is unfair to make the tickets non-refundable and give the ticketing staff no power to change show times - I bought 4 tickets by mistake for the 10am show but my child was performing in the 7:30pm show, I did call and email and tried to get my time changed but it was no success. Luckily, I ended up getting a refund through PayPal. I strongly recommend allowing people with genuine reason change ticket times or receive a refund up to a few days or a week to the event, it was a draining and frustrating experience and it took away from the really nice time that my family usually has at these shows. Attached are my picture evidences. Because last time my review was met with denial and calling out the fact that I have a child who I am solely responsible for and was going to register with her sibling but never did because she was too young at the time and currently has no interest in dance.
I’ve been attending JLSD for almost 3 years as an adult dancer. Traci’s adult ballet classes are just amazing! She truly cares about your you and your progress. I hope to be dancing with her for many more seasons to come!
My daughters have both taken lessons at JLSD and the teachers are the best, June is great, and this has been a very supportive and encouraging environment all around, to help build confidence and be part of a team. I have truly valued the friendships and memories we have made with the other dance families, too.
Both my daughters absolutely love dancing here! More than just learning dance, the school has a very nurturing environment, responsible teachers and welcoming atmosphere.
I write this review with honesty and integrity. The June Lawrence School of Dance has been a part of my life, my whole life. I learned to dance here for 20+ years. From childhood to adolescence to adulthood. June has taught me dance, confidence, prudence, respect for others and myself and how to have a good time. She puts her whole heart into teaching dance and into running her business. As an adult, I now work for her and often express to her that I enjoy it so much that I would do it for free. Working at the studio gives me the opportunity to see new dancers, meet new families, encourage their growth and be involved in the community. My experience with JLSD has touched every part of my life and will forever have a deep impact.
My daughter has been dancing at JLSD for 2 years, and loves it. The entire staff/team are professional, passionate and love what they do. June Lawrence, is especially, passionate about her business and loves every dancer that walks through the door. She is very organized and has a strong team. The year end recital always impresses me. There is a lot of love and passion in everyone involved. They sure know how to put on a show! The studios are large, bright, and clean. JLSD consistently participate in community events and fundraisers for those in need. Truly a special place to introduce you child to dance, or pick up where they left off. As a former dancer myself, I can appreciate how fantastic this studio is.
