The dress shopping experience was decent, but the seamstress appointment and fitting was nothing short of a disaster. I booked the day off work for the first seamstress appointment and then had to haul over to north bay from my appointment. The seamstress arrived more than 30 minutes late and then felt like she was rushing my appointment. She somehow ripped off one of my dress straps, then managed to prick herself with the needle and started to bleed. I asked her where my custom straps were and she said my mom had them even though they were in her seamstress box the whole time and then eventually fell onto the floor… During my first appointment, I was asked if I was planning on losing weight before my wedding which I get is a genuine question in case of fluctuations with the dress. But, this was not the case for me. I asked my straps to be located in a certain place on my shoulder and the seamstress suggested against it since she wanted to cover my “arm fat”. Then she goes on to tell me that she lost 15 pounds in one month with Mounjaro. Good for you. It sucks that I had a serious illness 5 years ago that nearly killed me and ended up gaining weight because of it all, but thanks for suggesting I just “lose weight” as if it’s so easy and your place to comment on. I’ve never felt more ugly and uncomfortable in my body and this certainly didn’t help the matter. Also, I love how I was told to lose weight meanwhile my dress was being taken in to be a smaller size so what gives?! I need a seamstress to work with my body as it is not how it could be. The seamstress failed to listen to my instructions and wanted to change the dress as to how she wanted it… there was definitely a communication issue since she failed to understand what I was requesting. The second (and last) time I went in to try on my dress, pay for it, and take it home, she was late yet again over 35 minutes after I rushed to get there from work. The seamstress also had an annoying habit of bouncing back from one customer to the next since she was dealing with 2-3 customers at a time which I didn’t appreciate the full attention. I never should have brought my dress here for the alterations since I’ve had nothing but misery and a big hole in my pocket. I also wasn’t happy with how the dress looks now and now have to try and finish it off with ANOTHER seamstress somewhere else after I already paid $700. I would 100% suggest going for alterations elsewhere.
Avoid at all cost. They are too pushy and would love bomb you to get you to buy but trust me you will have a buyer’s remorse. Do not trust their so called “expert” opinion. At the end of the day, they just want to make a sale. It’s a business after all.
I came here for my second appointment and Kasia was a wonderful consultant. She was extremely patient with me as I was very indecisive. She picked a lot of great options in my price range and didn’t put any pressure on me to make any decisions. I was able to try on a ton of different dresses of various styles and I had a great experience.
Had the most incredible experience here!! Jenna was an absolute DREAM to work with. She was so kind and made us feel right at home. Never made us feel pressured or rushed, and was so graceful in helping our bride find the perfect dress within her budget. Would highly recommend! Our bride said yes to her dream dress
