Was looking to learn about and purchase a folding bike. The person helping me (didn't catch his name) informed me they didn't have the inventory at this time due to covid but still spent his time to educate me on what to look for and the reputable brands. Great customer service and wish they had the inventory to give them my business.
Van de Velo was outstanding! Popped in twice now, once to have my Kona Stuff tuned and the other to have my Kona Stinky assessed. Paul made the Stuff feel like new again, plus was super friendly, helpful and honest about repairing my Stinky as well. 10/10 recommended!
Took my road bike in for a spring tune up. Bike is running GREAT and the prices were super reasonable. They were also very quick to get it back to me when I asked if there was any way they could beat the day they said it would be done. Friendly and knowledgeable! Excited to have this bike shop in the neighborhood.
Great shop and excellent service. The shop owner/mechanic Paul is very pleasant to deal with. I have had several bikes serviced and also rebuilt from the ground up. If any issues came along he would always call me and let me know before doing anything. His turnaround times are excellent for being the sole mechanic. I have also had the pleasure (or pain) in taking his off season training program. Paul was able to create a program based off of my strengths and weaknesses to improve upon the cycling season. By the end of the 14 week program, I felt really good. I learned a lot of things in that duration being relatively new to cycling. If you are new to cycling or experienced, you will be treated with care and respect. That is why I keep coming back.
I found Paul and Van de Velo by accident. Not literally but because of a double blow out 10kms from home and only one spare tube. He fixed my tire like an Indy Pit Crew, and sent me on my way. He noticed my rim was dented (that was caused by me jumping a curb), and told me to come back after my ride and he would fix it. Couple weeks later I went to inquire about upgrading the components and rims on my bike and making my factory made Cannondale something special. We sat down and talked budget. Paul and his “Financial Guru” wife ran the numbers, searched around and came back to me the next day with a very fair price within my budget. I pulled the trigger and within a day he had the parts in stock. Less than 24 hours after I dropped the bike off, he had totally stripped down, rebuilt and waxed the entire bike. When I went in to pick it up, I got fitted for the bike. Paul knows his stuff and when I went for the first ride I instantly noticed an increase in power, a decrease in fatigue and no sore rump. When you read Paul’s bio it says “Owner/Master Mechanic”, he is not lying. He built me a set of Mavic Openpro rims that you could put over a garbage can and jump on. I have never seen a bike ride and shift so well. My reborn Cannondale “looks awesome and rides even better”. I pass two other bike shops on the way to Van de Velo because you cannot find this type of service, passion, precision, and attention to detail at any of the “big box” stores out there. I highly recommend Van do Velo, you won’t be disappointed.
