Busy bee you are really going down hill. The last few visits i have seen a decline in customer service and product on shelves. Today was the last straw, no cash sales 30min before store closing. Not impressed and never returning.
Patrick at the Mississauga store was extremely knowledgeable and helpful on wood lathe questions and advice. No pressure, just good info and suggestions. Very much appreciated
Got to tell you a great story - this business has great staff. I went to their 1st annual woodworking show in Concord. I purchased a refurbished drum sander - BTW was clearly told that this was a product that was sold "AS IS - NO WARRANTY". I purchased the product got it home, started it up and it had a wild vibration. Had to wait to call back on Monday - Got my salesman Scott on the phone. I explained my situation - It was clear in talking to him that he was going to take care of me. He said " I'll get someone to call you from customer service today, but know that if this goes sideways, please call me back. ( this guy clearly cared about getting me getting taken care of - this is so reassuring!!). Just got back, they swapped the unit out for another that works great. What amazing customer service from a store that I get to keep loving. Thanks again Scott for your great customer experience, You will get my business for many years to come.
I have been shopping here for years! Over the last couple of years I have had nothing but neutral to poor experiences! First thing that happened is they shipped me the wrong tool I ordered a jointer planer combo and they sent me a scroll saw! Things happen but then when I called they told me to send photos which then I would have to wait for them to reply! I was not doing that so I asked them if I can exchange it at the store and they did that for me but the whole purpose of me getting it delivered is that I did not have to make a trip to pick it up! I asked for them to refund the shipping as I still had to pick up the item, so they opted to give me a $30 gift card, which was ok, but I would have preferred the refund! Then I used the jointer for a day maximum of 2 times! After the second use, the metal latch on the lock for the fence broke! I contacted customer service via email and they asked me for a photo of the model and serial number so I sent that in and they have not replied! Since I sent that in I have called them 2 times and left voicemails emailed them 2 times and still no reply! Not even a we are still looking into it! No communication at all! Needless to say I am not happy with this as I work in customer service and I would be fired if I left a customer unread for 2 weeks with no response! I am not asking for much I just want the part to fix my tool! It really is a shame as busy bee used to be my favorite place to shop, but now it is leaving me to look at alternative shopping options!
Absolutely the worst place I have ever experienced for a defective product to be repaired. I requested a refund on a defective 15" Craftex Helical cutterhead thickness planer. It needed repair within a couple of days of use. V-belts were out of alignment by 1/2", the unit overheated the fan blade on the motor was loose. The gearbox leaked. I was told that they had to be given the chance to repair it first. A year later and altogether 3 brand new machines later I finally received a partial refund. All of the units leaked oil, even after their so called service guy fixed them. They all overheated. So buyer beware!
Big disappointment with the customer service dept. I purchased a cx212 table say in sept 2020. Came with a miter guage that was out to lunch and not usable. I am still waiting for a replacement Feb 2021... made in China just isn't worth anything.
Have purchased IRL from Busy Bee stores and the experience has been OK, but disappointed in my first online shopping experience. Ordered an in-stock product, credit card was charged, got an order confirmation but no further communication. Called to inquire to find the item was not actually in stock and they wouldn't get it for a month. They said product is in stock at locations over an hour away but they said they can't ship it from a store (despite their mistake/inventory errors).
