The skills, leadership and knowledge that all the coaches/instructors here demonstrate is completely amazing! They are confident, respectful and professional at all times! They are wonderful with teens/ kids and adults! They have been such meaningful mentors to my son. Coach Rick, Coach Karan, Coach Tyson and Coach Mike to name a few have been such great leaders for my son. Definitely recommend this place for anyone willing to learn.
I have known and trained with Rick and Mike for years to say that they are just good with children is an understatement. If you’re looking for a place to send your kids to get discipline, learn to defend themselves and just overall have a great time and make great friends for life. You need to send them to go see Rick thank me later.
Gracie Humaitá BJJ has been an amazing experience for my 11-year-old. The kids’ program is well-structured, fun, and designed to instill both confidence and discipline. Coach Rick is patient, encouraging, and knows how to connect with the kids while still challenging them to improve. What I appreciate most is the balance: the classes build real BJJ skills, but also teach respect, focus, and teamwork. My son looks forward to every session, and the positive environment makes it feel like more than just a sport, it’s a community.
I wanted to take a moment and express my gratitude to Coach Rick and his team. Our son has been training with Coach Rick since 2023. Coach Rick is professional, genuine, hardworking and extremely passionate in teaching and leading his BJJ program. He makes an effort to get know his student and their family at a personal level, their learning styles and provides a tailored /personalized experience for each of his students while continuously meeting and exceeding their BJJ learning objectives. He’s attentive during classes, and ensure student safety is prioritized while maintaining a competitive learning environment. He proactively monitors every child’s skill to identify opportunities to further enhance their ‘toolbox’ aka skill sets. He emphasizes the use of ‘techniques’ within his classes to ensure successful competition outcomes while increasing student confidence , and comfort with an array of opponents. Most importantly, he keeps the classes/program meaningful with motivational quotes, authentic and fun. Lastly, we have utilized Coach Rick’s private lessons, whereby, he develops a curated plan for the student. He ensures the parent is aligned, and welcomes additions input to ensure the plan is tailored to both the student and parent’s objective. Private lessons have not only refined our son’s technical skills, it’s also directly yielded consecutive competition wins over the last 4 months. We highly recommend Coach Rick and his team to anyone looking to introduce their child to BJJ for the first time or even those looking to further upskill their child’s BJJ skills.
We’re from out of town and recently dropped into Gracie Humaitá Mississauga—honestly, it couldn’t have been a better experience. The vibe there is super welcoming and positive. Coach Rick is great with the kids. He made my son feel comfortable right away, and by the end of his first class, he already felt like he’d made some new friends. That kind of environment is rare, and it really stood out. If you’re looking for a place where your kid can learn Jiu-Jitsu and actually have fun doing it, this is the spot. Couldn’t recommend it more.
Best place to learn self-defence, I had a great time learning jiu-jitsu here. Miss Gracie Humaita Mississauga so much, if I have a chance I would choose this place again for my jiu-jitsu training. Thank you coaches for making my training time became the best!
