I recently purchased a rug from this store and had a very disappointing experience. I bought a rug that was approximately 5x8, but I later realized it was smaller than what I actually needed. When I originally purchased it, the owner told me he was flexible and that I could come back anytime if the rug didn’t suit us. At no point did he mention a “no return” policy or a 5-day exchange rule. Based on how he presented his flexible return policy, I felt comfortable paying $320 for the rug, even though it was already on the expensive side. When I came back to exchange it for a larger size, the owner quoted me $500 for the next size up. I explained that I couldn’t afford that and asked for a refund for the smaller rug. He refused and insisted that he had told me there were no returns or refunds, which was a blatant lie. I asked him to show me where the policy was written and he was unable to produce an official receipt of purchase. After leaving his store, I went to several other rug stores in the city. I found the *exact same rug*—same manufacturer, same label, same design—in a larger 7x10 size for **$290**. Not only is the owner dishonest about his return policy, his rugs are nearly twice as expensive as other stores. I would strongly advise other customers to shop elsewhere. There are plenty of rug stores in the area with honest communication, fair pricing, and clear policies. I would not do business here again.
Had the best experience at Omar Rug Co in Mississauga. They have amazing options at an affordable price, with the best customer service ever (Omar is awesome!) . Still shocked at how great the prices were for such amazing quality pieces. I have recommended this place to my whole family and will be going back again myself. Thank you for the great service.
