It's a picturesque green space in the heart of the concrete jungle. Great place to go to play baseball, soccer, cricket, tennis and various other sports with all the space. Great for walks or just good ol' chillin'. Been going here for over 25 years, and will continue to do so.
I only ever use this park to play ball. Of the 2 parks I like the unfenced one. Both are lit. No issues at night for playing the ball. The fenced park is 225 down the lines and 250 straight away centre. Plus the fence is only like 4 feet high. Also if you are here on weekend know that you will have to park in the main parking lot and walk in. Even if the main lot is full, I have parked in the medical complex on Goreway just south of Derry and cut through the bush.
It is a beautiful park, but often too crowded as every weekend there is some private party/event where they play music way too loud, which drowns out the beautiful and relaxing sounds of nature. Please! Turn down the music!After every event, the place is trashed, with garbage everywhere. The city does a great job trying to clean up the place every morning, but it's like the people who attend the events here have no respect for the environment or don't know how to use the available garbage cans.
Nice park north of the airport. They have a unique playground for kids and and outdoor basketball court. The park area is well maintained and clean. Ample parking space. When I went, they had outhouses for washrooms, but it was manageable
If I could give it 0 I would. As I was about to start my softball game, an older disturbed man was walking around the parking lot waving a realistic fake gun in the air. He was acting bizarre and making a lot of people feel VERY uncomfortable. There are very weird characters that linger around this park so I do not reccomend it especially with children. I felt very unsafe.
