Used their services for my real estate closing. Great service and they were very courteous and professional. Excellent communications from beginning to end and they explained every step. I would definitely recommend this office to family and friends.
I have been dealing with Ball and Berljawski for quite some time, and have found them to be an outstanding law firm. Lorraine has been a Legal Assistant specializing in Real Estate for over 30 years, and that kind of experience not only speaks volumes, but gives you the confidence of knowing that your Real Estate transaction will be handled professionally and properly.David, Joseph and Michael are Lawyers that excel in the different facets of law, and are always available and willing to put their expertise into practice for their clients.Without hesitation, I recommend clients to B&B, because I know they will be taken care of properly.
Knowledgeable, meticulous and with a smile on their face. Joseph and his team have provided flawless service time and time again, while always responding quickly to any questions/concerns that I may have. Whether you're a first time home buyer or seasoned real estate investor, I would highly recommend using their services!
My husband and I were first-time home-buyers who used this firm a few months ago, and we were (and still are) truly disappointed that we used them for the closing of our first home - it wasn't an experience we would ever wish upon any new homeowners. We found them through Google (and weren't referred to them through a referral source or agent), and had a number off issues:1. On the day of closing, we were informed that they gave us an incorrect closing funds amount, and they needed more money from us to close the transaction. Apparently, they do their "final review" of mortgage documents on the day of, so if there's an error, they don't catch it till your closing day (meaning, if you don't have the funds, you won't have much time to find some). I was able to e-transfer the amount because it was within my e-transfer limits - but what if I hadn't been able to? 2. Prior to our signing appointment, I had to point out another error in our closing funds statement, which showed we had to bring in less funds (our mortgage broker thankfully pointed out what our funding amount should be, so we knew how much money we would need). I was told that they don't normally do a final review of mortgage documents until later on (I didn't realize final review wouldn't be till closing day - which meant, if I hadn't caught this error, there's a likelihood they would have needed more money from us on closing day).3. On the day we had to sign our closing documents, we had a 6:15 PM appointment - we rushed there after work and arrived at 6:20 PM. We also had a scheduled walk-through appointment of our house at 7:30 PM with our real estate agent and families. Unfortunately - our signing appointment with Ball & Berljawsky began around 7:30 PM, more than an HOUR later than scheduled. We waited in that waiting room for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and NO ONE emerged to let us know how long we would be waiting, which we thought was incredibly unprofessional. This also meant that our agent and families and the sellers were left waiting until our appointment was over. We were also told we would be sent certain items after our appointment (we still haven't received them).4. On the day of closing, I followed up to ask when my father could come in and pick up keys. We were told they were in the "process of registering" and he could pick up our keys shortly. My dad came and went - but we didn't receive a single email from a lawyer or a clerk confirming that our transaction was indeed "closed". We received our transfer/title deed about 1.5 months later.5. In terms of communications - my husband and I asked to be copied on all communications (i.e. to "Reply All"), which didn't happen, making it difficult for my husband and I to communicate (i.e. I had to keep forwarding him communications he was never copied on, even though it was requested and I kept copying him on emails repeatedly).Overall, this was a pretty disappointing experience, and we truly wished we had gone with another firm. You honestly feel like you're just a number and invoice. There are many, many, many real estate lawyers in Mississauga - if you want a more personal, detail-oriented experience, I wouldn't choose this one.
I had the pleasure of working with Lorraine on the close of my clients home. With my client being oversea's we worked well together as a team to ensure our client was well informed and taken care of. Lorraine was beyond helpful, informative and professional through out the entire process and I would not hesitate to refer clients to this firm in the future.
