Inflexible and lack knowlegde. Had to be called out repeatedly because they could not figure out solutions. Would not recommend. EDIT: I did call a few days ago and was told you won't service my home anymore because I expressed my concerns with membership fees escalating/services decreasing without proper communication to clients.

2 years since Dr. HVAC bought Cedarwood and they have NEVER kept their appointments. Not once! They have NEVER accrual come out to maintain my systems. Do not work with this company unless you want to be deceived.

TL;DR. An awful experience. Lots promised, not delivered. Paid for installation of two split units and sold on this being ONE day. We are currently working to schedule our FIFTH visit and we still do not have a working system. And to make matters worse, Dr. HVAC charged the credit card we provided for the deposit for the entire remaining balance WITHOUT our prior authorization / permission (and for a non-working system no less). Timeline: 1. First visit - Dr HVAC did not bring an electrician (even though they pre-inspected property and knew electrician was needed). 2. Second visit - Dr HVAC sent an electrician to inspect the property to ensure the next install visit would go smoothly In the meanwhile, Kim from Dr. HVAC asked if the remaining balance could be charged to the credit card we used for our deposit (i.e., BEFORE the job was even done / units were working). I told her 'no' because our installation was unfinished and that we might use a different card. She charged the card anyway without my consent / authorization. Thankfully we had available balance, but if we didn't, I checked online and the charge could go through and we could get fined (or credit score dinged). Pretty sure not legal... 3. Third visit - The electrician (Travis) came and said he wasn't informed from previous electrician that we had a finished basement and needed to figure out how to add power without wrecking the basement aesthetically. After attaching power, he then claimed the units were working by showing that they turned on. However, after he left, it became clear they were not working as they quickly showed error codes within minutes of being turned on (due to outdoor unit being broken). No cool or hot air. When we called Dr. HVAC, we learned that the electrician was supposed to do a thorough quality control check to ensure everything operated correctly before leaving, including the outdoor heat pump, which he did not. 4. Fourth visit - We asked Dr. HVAC to send a new unit to replace the broken one. instead, they sent a technician to see if he could get everything working. While he was very nice (Paolo was one of the only bright spots in our experience), he figured out that Dr. HVAC gave us a 'lemon' outdoor heat pump. Dr HVAC then told us that we have to wait for a warranty claim to be processed (despite this unit NEVER working in first place). We have been fighting to get them to just give us a new unit from their inventory. The battle is ongoing... 5. Throughout this whole process, the communication and follow through of Dr HVAC has been lacking. E.g., People say they will call us at a scheduled time and just don't. E.g., We get asked to call the office and schedule more appointments to get things fixed vs Dr HVAC doing it for us. E.g., I got a boiler-plate email from Brendon (the president) saying he hoped we were satisfied and to reply back with questions or concerns, and after sharing this ordeal, I did not get a response back for a week (and only after nudging him). Despite other positive reviews, we have had a very bad experience with Dr. HVAC, and barring some meaningful corrective action, we could not recommend them to anyone. I hope the other people with positive reviews had exceptional experiences, but I'd feel remiss not to warn people that things can go very wrong with Dr HVAC too.

Please note, Dr HVAC is NOT a 24 hour service. We’ve been members with them for a little over a year. Our furnace was serviced exactly a week ago and has now stopped working. It’s below zero temperatures tonight and I have young children in the house, but have been informed that on weeknights they offer an answering service only, with no technicians on call. They only offer emergency services on weekends. Their advertising is a bit misleading if you ask me, so just be aware of what you are signing up for. Their service up until this point has been fabulous so this is disappointing to say the least. Edit: Dr HVAC was very responsive once I left this (original 2 star) review. They were apologetic for what happened and have indicated that typically an evening call would be received by the owner or manager. I was told if a technician isn’t available they will drive over space heaters until they can get someone it. I hope I never have to find out if this is accurate. It obviously wasn’t my experience but might be someone else’s. I’ve updated my review in any case because despite this mishap we have been happy with their services overall.

Original review - Mike F. from this company was able to quickly identify a problem that another company misdiagnosed twice. Highly recommend. Mike stated they were unable to locate the leak without a $1,200 dye test and recommended we go with full system replacement. Update - I subsequently had another company come in and they told me that a leak to my air conditioner was visible to the naked eye (he showed me, it was literally dripping). He replaced the exterior part of the system for much less than the cost that dr hvac would have cost given we only had to replace the condenser.

The people at DR. HVAC are amazing. Great service. They fix what can be fixed and replace what cant. They are very polite and reasonably priced. I shopped around and was very happy with their pricing. Once you agree on price it is nice to know that they back it up with great service and installation. I have used them for Furnace repair, Air Conditioning instal and gas line instal for my BBQ. Thanks Brendon and the people at DR HVAC. Len D.
