Lots of parking! Good now that they have machine you can add money to presto but unfortunately hidden in an area hard to see. And north side needs a place to buy tickets/presto. Also a little frustrating to get to ticket agent because bridge still closed on south side. The tim Hortons is handy but slow service for a GO station
New updates are happening all the time, new adaptations like the new parking structure means more parking, Metrolinx has recently installed a new pedestrian walk bridge on the north side for ease of access and are now currently working on another on the other side. As this is a big station, many commuters go here and for some this can be seen as frustrating so allow for expanded travel time when using during rush hour.
Had a very frustrating experience today at Clarkson GO station. I was with 5 family members from England and we were taking them into Toronto for the day. The first thing that went wrong was parking in the multi story car park. I drove in and went up to level 2. I did not see any sign indicating that as soon as I got to level 2, I should have turned left down the first lane. Therefore I followed the P parking arrow and found myself driving around level 2 in circles. Eventually I went down to the ground level and this time I noticed the green arrow half way along the first lane pointing to Level 3. Then we went to the ticket machine. It was very slow to register our selections. We actually managed to get 6 tickets but then realized that we only got one way tickets. So we needed to cancel it, but discovered that there was no way to cancel it on the screen. A stranger helped us and press cancel on the credit card key pad. So then we started again and ordered 6 return tickets to Toronto. We were really shocked to see it was going to cost us $90. During this time we actually missed the train and would have had to wait for the next train. That was the final insult, and we all left and drove to Toronto. So much for showing my family around my home city! Parking cost us only $15 in the city. I have also managed to get lost numerous times in the underground tunnels under the lines. They're aren't enough signs showing which way to go to get to the ticket office or the train lines. I am going to avoid Clarkson GO in the future.Robin and Carol Parnell.
What you'd expect from a GO station. An elevator would be highly useful by the east tunnel when the bridge between the south kiss & ride and the bus terminal is out of service.
Your typical GO Station but definitely one of the busier ones on the Lakeshore West line. There are a number of express (non-stop) trains to and from the Toronto Union Station during rush hour. However, you will be lucky to find a seat on any of those trains.Ample parking with both outdoor and indoor lots but they're not necessarily best-designed.Offers a pick-up point for your groceries from one of the major grocery chains.
