I had my eyes on this restaurant for ages and since I'm leaving for Kerala in 9 days, I decided to microdose on the experience when my friend Niklas said he was craving dosas. We met up here and got the appam, malabar porotta, beef coconut fry, mutton pepper fry, and fried sardines for the mains. We also started with banana fritters and the mango curry. They served us a cardamom black tea and it helped me double down on how all the rich South Asian tea traditions serve it black (no shade but I'm sure my mom agrees). The spot is halal certified. My friend Monica paid so unfortunately I don't know how much it was per person but I'd estimate around $20 each.
Not worth. Expensive but meat not cooked to fine. Also seem to be freezing and heating technique but not sure. But compared to Indian food kerala cuisine are expensive but only ptice increase not the taste. Maybe because of low volume.
Great food. But before ordering check for spice levels. I enjoyed the food, more of a take out place but one can sit over there and eat too. Just be careful while ordering … spice levels check. Economical and enjoyable.
Tried the Thalassery Chicken Biryani at Ruchi World, Mississauga, and it was really disappointing. The biryani tasted nothing like the authentic Thalassery style — just greasy rice and bland chicken. To make things worse, the staff were quite rude and unhelpful, which completely ruined the experience. Honestly, wouldn’t recommend this place at all
They took our dosa order (and money) then came back and said it would take an hour. They also only partially refunded our money, which foolishly we pre-paid.
A true hidden gem for Kerala cuisine in Mississauga! Though it's the smallest Kerala restaurant in the area (with a cozy dine-in setup for around 20 people), it's hands down the best in terms of value for money. The food is consistently delicious, authentic, and budget-friendly. We've tried their Thalassery chicken biryani, chicken roast, and beef roast—all were flavorful and cooked to perfection. While the regular chicken biryani was a bit underwhelming, it was just $9.99, so can't complain much. Their snacks are absolutely top-notch—especially the pazhampori and meat roll, which are some of the best we've had. The ambiance is simple but pleasant, and the service is decent. Located on Cooksville Landing, right next to Szechuan Noodles Bowl, this place is easy to miss—but trust me, it's worth finding. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Kerala food in the GTA!
I ordered Porotta and chicken fry from doordash and the food was horrible. The chicken fry was mediocre and porotta was so hard and felt like frozen porotta was heated up and served. This is byfar the worst food I have eaten from a kerala restaurant in Toronto
