To provide a little context of how valuable Waterfront Seafood is an absolute gem resides from my travel to the East Coast of Canada. Having same day caught and cooked Scallops and other seafood, the taste was a first and a longing desire. Upon returning I tried many other stores and came up short, until I shopped here. Having the hunger for fresh scallops I just recently embarked upon, the memory was still fresh of the splendid taste, I got home prepped the seafood, and at my first bite, I knew I had to look no further. Thank you Waterfront Seafood for providing such fresh and quality seafood.
This is my go-to for sushi grade salmon and tuna. And to be honest, probably for all seafood needs as everything is super fresh. Everyone is very helpful and friendly.
As a first time customer, the guys at this place made me so welcomed. I just loved the whole experience of purchasing fresh Chilean sea bass and cod with all the very helpful advice I was given on handling and cooking them. My hosted dinner was a great success with so many compliments on the perfectly cooked fish… a big thank you from a now regular customer.
The quality of seafood at Waterfront is unmatched! I've been looking for good salmon across the city and this is the first place I found it. The staff are so kind and special shoutout to Angelo :) He is the real deal! He is so experienced and know exactly what he's talking about :) Highly recommend this place!
BE AWARE. I came in today looking for carp fish for Christmas. As soon as I walked in I was hit with a terrible odour, I've been to many seafood stores before and never experienced smell like that, I think the person working there noticed my face because he started laughing and said something like "it's a fish store, what do you expect?". The fish looked fine when he showed me. I bought it, not to mention it was almost 40$ for a fairly small piece! On the way home I kept smelling this terrible odour, was thinking it might be my clothes, but when I came home and took the fish out of the bag I almost vomited, the SMELL WAS HORRIBLE. I've been buying carp fish for years since it is our Christmas tradition and I know exactly how a fresh fish is supposed to smell. The fish smelled DISGUSTING, and it was all slimy and gross. And the skin was also peeled off which is not supposed to be done. I had air out my entire house because I could still smell it everywhere. I highly recommend avoiding this place. If I didn't live so far form the store I would literally bring it back, because it's outrageous to sell something like that for 40$ and putting people at risk of getting food poisoning!
Great quality seafood for a great price. As a born and raised newfie im hard to impress when it comes to seafood, but today i was blown away. Truly an unbeatable selection. You can't go wrong with the waterfront seafood market. We are already planning our next visit.
