A great slice of every day Canadian history.
Experience what life was like for a pioneer settler. After Mid March we enjoyed the maple syrup and the kids enjoyed the petting zoo as well. There are many activities throughout the year for your whole family to enjoy. In the warmer weather, enjoy the garden and the surrounding landscape to picnic on.
We walked in and had to ask the 2 staff members just looking at us if it was ok to look around. We were told we were welcome to check out the buildings but we could have a guided tour of the main building with a donation. The guide seemed to know tidbits of info of the era but very little of the family itself. We were hoping for a little more.
Interesting walk through how a well-to-do-family lived a 100 years ago in Canada. The guide though was not involved passionately enough to engage tourists.
Came with my daughter's school and it was terrible!! Staff was constantly telling kids off for being kids and giving dirty looks to the teachers!! If you're not geared for kindergarten kids, say that and don't accept visits from this age group. Sheesh!!! What an awful experience.
