The haircut was excellently done with the hairstyle I wanted. I like the 1920s/1930s look. It was done skillfully and in good time. Delighted with the results. Thank you Alzera. Dixie and Dundas location, Mississauga
I have been going to 1st choice for decades. Now I take my kid. Great price with no fuss. Quick and efficient service. Personal touch and locations every where.
My first time going to this salon.. Linh cut my hair, actually fixed what other hair salon damaged. She is very kind, listened to my concerns and gave me a beautiful haircut. I left the salon with a big smile on my face. Finally I found my stylist. Linh, I can’t thank you enough. ?
Strong 4*. Ladies were very patient with explaining how the price point works as I’m used to different approach where it’s all in, cut, wash and dry. They use add on system. I took a risk and done my haircut at this place, I was hesitant in the beginning when I saw red outdated sink and the chair was not so comfortable either. I would say the back room and the washroom needs some work done. Lady (asian looking) who cut my hair was thural and gentle. She actually did a good job. Big plus, it’s almost twice cheaper than other places would charge me for my long hair.
I have been going to this hair salon more than 15 years. We stopped going to this place only when COVID came to the picture. But overall experience, it's the best, Tom knows what he is doling.
Shame on me for picking a salon with little research, and it proved costly, as one hair stylist was too preoccupied with cutting my bf’s hair, while dealing with the busy front desk, and I got the woman at the back of the salon with zero hair cutting experience. They also didn’t clean their workstations between customers, and this definately can’t be covid safe. The salon only had two people working, where my bf was at the front of the shop having his scalp buzzed off, the woman was barely paying attention and didn’t even notice she was cutting his mask and ears several times. His haircut was nicely done on one side, as per the photo diagram he had given the woman... while the other side was blunt, with no fade and totally different than the other side. We hypothesize that we should have shown her what the other side of the models hair in the photograph ? maybe there was some confusion with what to do with the other side of the photographed hair... As for myself, I was situated at the back of the salon where there was poor lighting. I have thick hair, and my hair was not sectioned, the woman simply pulled all my hair back and bluntly cut. Where I asked for layers, she randomly “thinned” my hair with thinning shears at the BASE of my hair growth. I had to intervene several times, as this was not the skill set I expected to be cutting my hair, in addition to the pain I was experience as my hair was being pulled. It’s been a day after my cut, and my scalp is sore where she had originally “thinned” my hair. Ugh I could go on with now horrible her cut was, there was no technique, she was pulling out random scissors and not even using them. I could tell she was buying time as she didn’t know what to do with my hair, especially after I intervened. A seasoned hair dresser with legitimate experience would not have faulted under my concerns. I did not put her down, nor did I panic. I calmly asked her to stop, and gave her an explanation why I was uncomfortable. In the end, I still tipped the women 10$ each, as I just felt bad. I feel bad for my hair, but these woman should not be in the field of work that they are currently in. We left with less hair, which I guess was the goal... but my bf has several cuts around his neck, outer and inner ear (she used a little peanut buzzer on his ears and LOOKED away while she used it while dealing with complaints at the front desk) and he has several injured birth marks. I’d say I’m more upset with his cuts, because I’m left to look at his injuries and think I did this to him by taking us here. As for my hair, it’ll grow back and the scalp soreness/headaches will dissipate but this memory won’t. Go here if you want a haircut that looks like you did it yourself, but at a marked up cost, and potential injuries from women who won’t even ask if you’re okay, or if you’re happy with the cut. Originally I wanted to give 2 stars for their effort, but had to reduce it to 1, based on safety and ethics. I stand by these woman needing to change workplaces if they want to continue to care little for the safety and comfort of their patrons. Additionally, I saw ZERO EFFORTS to clean the chairs or counter spaces/ scissors after customers. I’m not sure if this is up to COVID-19 standards but this needs to be looked at!!
I ve been a patron of this location for 20+ yrs..always a great cut..always great service..all the staff is great and very welcoming..i highly recommend..
