I am pretty agnostic when it comes to the service as long as things stay professional. This place has a pretty standard store front with couple of standard windows and 4 private booths that they buzz you in. Everything is pretty standard and acceptable. What in my opinion can use some improvement is their buy back discount on metals. They have a screen on the wall clearly visible from the booth showing their buy sell rates. The listed rate offers about 93.5 cents to the dollar, so they want a 6.5% discount on face value on the commodity, not to mention that what I was inquiring about Maple Leaf coins (which is already premium to non branded metal. I can totally understand this is a business and there needs to be margin. Now knowing 6.5% is their standard rate, the rep offered me 91.8% on the dollar. The rep cited recent volatility in the market as the reason why the deeper discount. That’s a whooping 8.2% fee on your precious metal. That’s pretty steep to me. The going rates are about 2% and 3% around town. (E.g. $100 spot worth of metal you should expect to get between $97 and $98), Gold Stock would offer about $92 to $93.5. It adds up real quick if you are selling 100 plus oz. This is probably not the best place to sell for real customers. Maybe they have preferred rate for bigger clients? Just do your homework before making your decision.

Poor Communication and Professionalism When dealing with high-value transactions like gold purchases, trust and clear communication are paramount. Unfortunately, the manager failed on both counts. Their approach to our interaction was characterized by unnecessary complexity, a lack of clarity, and a visibly dismissive attitude. Any questions were answered with extreme brevity or impatience, making the transaction feel rushed and stressful rather than secure and respectful. A manager's role is to ensure smooth operations and high-quality customer service. When the top staff member demonstrates such poor communication skills, it reflects poorly on the entire business and creates a discouraging environment. Impact on the Muslim Community in Canada For many members of the Muslim community, purchasing gold is often tied to significant life events or specific financial practices where trust, transparency, and respectful engagement are non-negotiable. Based on the manager's conduct, which demonstrated a fundamental lack of appropriate client service and clear respect, I can no longer confidently recommend Gold Stock Corp to my peers. Until a demonstrable change in management behavior and customer relations is implemented, I advise the Canadian Muslim community to seek out businesses where they are guaranteed transparent, professional, and courteous service from the highest levels of staff. Conclusion I believe the store’s owner should immediately address the conduct of the management. An excellent product is undermined when the individual representing the store's leadership is so poor at communication. My rating reflects this managerial failure and the necessity for community caution

Really bad customer service!! Met a guy named Abbas, really arrogant behaviour. Went to buy gold coin, but treated like was buying free coffee. It’s not really hard to just smile and greet the customers.

Very unprofessional! Zero customer service ethics — the person was rude and frustrated the entire time. Shame on such a business. Do not recommend at all.

Today I’ve called 4 different gold stores to get an estimate on gram of gold within 10 minutes. Gold stock was my third call. All 3 stores quoted $130 per gram, meanwhile gold stock was asking $150 for unpacked bar (ps. I was looking to buy).

Website = one price Walk in = another price Website = in stock Walk in = "sorry don’t have it anymore" … Ask for the price before placing an order and double check your receipt before you leave.
