I ordered the lunch box, super dry without sauce and sauce is not even enough for what it comes with. Chicken just has tasty crust the rest is dry. Additionally the workers were unhelpful making faces and didn’t even know how to communicate or answer simple questions about portions. The interior is also small and uncomfortable. Better options in ridgeway for sure.
Southern BBQ isn't easy to find in Canada but the GTA is getting better for this category. Food Fight has chosen to represent this niche in the infamous Ridgeway Plaza, wisely as south asian and middle eastern food are abundant in the plaza. Food Fight has a great selection of sauces to their credit. Their menu options are varied, providing different combinations depending on your appetite and budget. One noteworthy incident was that one of my friends platter was missing a cornbread. When we pointed this out, the kitchen generously gave us a round of 3 cornbreads. Only these were made fresh. When we tried the ones we were served side by side these, it was like a totally different food item. Evidently, the first two were made much earlier in the day and were much more stale than the fresh ones. Props to the man in the back for sending out the fresh batch but we really never should have been served those first two stale ones to begin with. No issues with service otherwise. The mac and cheese was alright for a non-baked dish, could have been creamier for sure. The meats generally didn't blow me away. The pulled pork was probably the best. Brisket was a bit meh.
Reply to Restaurant: The problem is with the quality of the food. It is $18 for 1/2lb of Brisket and $35 for a lb. It did not have any seasoning, it was hard, bland, we had to dump extra sauce on it to make it edible and it was cold. I have no reason to lie about my experience. I just don't want other people to have the same experience. Original Review: The Food: Worst brisket you will ever have. It was hard, like rubber. It's offensive how poorly cooked it was. They claimed it was cooked for 13 hours. Absolutely not, felt like it never touched the smoker. It was oven cooked and then they microwaved it before serving it to us. Paid $20 for it. Experience: Came to this location because the Brampton location person said it was Halal. Drove 30 minutes and when we arrive, they say that their main item, the Brisket, is not Halal. We asked them to carefully make sure the beef absolutely does not touch the pork. The Place: They don't have chairs, it's all stools. Conclusion: This place is not suitable as a BBQ place and I fear the reviews are not real after trying it.
Tried Ribs, Brisket, pulled pork, sweet potato fries, mac and cheese. Everything hit the spot. Smiling order taker. Will go back for sure. They just have two tables. But that's fine, helps to keep the cost down for the owner. Take out will be a better choice.
Listen, I was starving….really badly. Took my family here just the wife and my daughter. She loved the cornbread. The wife loved the wings I had the feast number 2 brisket and smoked chicken so much food I got lunch for two days. Everything was amazing very Cousy!!!!! Come and get some! You might see me. Lord knows I’m a reg now.
The food is just as good as the customer service. We had a great time chatting with head of house, Julian. Brisket was awesome as well as the sides. We definitely plan on coming back whenever we’re in town.
The meats are beyond juicy, and the fresh corn bread will melt in your mouth. Staff are absolutely amazing to make the entire experience so welcoming.
